Second day of the European Juniors and a number of Irish swimmers have been competing. The 100m Free saw Robert Powell and Jack McMillan both make PB’s, unfortunately neither progressed to the semi-final stage. Within a short amount of time (the next men’s event), Robert Powell was in the water again for the 200m Fly.
Mona McSharry and Niamh Coyne were both back in action in the 200m Breastroke. Mona made a PB and is the third fastest going into the semi-finals. Niamh narrowlly missed out on a semi-final place ranking at 18th after the heats, within half a second of a semi-final place. Niamh is listed as second reserve for the semi-final. Meanwhile Ellen Walshe is listed as a reserve swimmer for the semi-final of the 200m Fly this afternoon.
